Kindle Freebies and Cheapies

In the search for my next read, I came across quite a few free or almost free downloads, so I thought I would share.   I haven’t read any of these, and they may go directly to the archive after the 1st page, but you never know, this is how I found the Fever series!

The Strangely Beautiful Tale of Miss Percy Parker By Leanna Renee Hieber

Six young men and women are called to protect the living world from the dead in Hieber’s Gothic romance debut. Mysterious powers give Alexi and his peers the mission of keeping the restless dead in line and seeking a prophesied seventh guardian. Miss Percy Parker, an albino orphan with a talent for languages, fills none of their expectations, but Alexi is drawn to her all the same. Hieber draws Victorian London as beautiful and grim, with depictions of Jack the Ripper as a nightmarish many-headed hound alongside charming descriptions of the Athens Academy, Percy’s boarding school, and Greek mythology that smartly draws together various elements of the story. The supporting characters are nuanced and appealing but given short shrift by the narrow focus on Percy and Alexi, though future sequels may give them more room to play. Hieber’s debut shows great potential, and readers will want to revisit her intriguing world.

Wicked Lovely By Melissa Marr

Rule #3: Don’t stare at invisible faeries.  Aislinn has always seen faeries. Powerful and dangerous, they walk hidden in mortal world. Aislinn fears their cruelty-especially if they learn of her Sight-and wishes she were as blind to their presence as other teens.  Rule #2: Don’t speak to invisible faeries.  Now faeries are stalking her. One of them, Keenan, who is equal parts terrifying and alluring, is trying to talk to her, asking questions Aislinn is afraid to answer.  Rule #1: Don’t ever attract their attention.  But it’s too late. Keenan is the Summer King who has sought his queen for nine centuries. Without her, summer itself will perish. He is determined that Aislinn will become the Summer Queen at any cost-regardless of her plans or desires.  Suddenly none of the rules that have kept Aislinn safe are working anymore, and everything is on the line: her freedom; her best friend, Seth; her life; everything.

Faerie intrigue, mortal love, and the clash of ancient rules and modern expectations swirl together in Melissa Marr’s stunning 21st century faery tale.

Bite Me By Parker Blue

An edgy book for teens that spans the gap between YA and adult fiction. Life after high school is tough enough without having to go 15 rounds with your inner demon. Val Shapiro is just your ordinary, part-demon, teenaged vampire hunter with a Texas drawl. And a pet hellhound named Fang. Soon enough she finds herself deep in the underbelly of the city, discovering the secrets of the Demon Underground and fighting to save those she loves. Whether they love her back or not.

I must tell you that The Strangely Beautiful Tale of Miss Percy Parker, is good one. Not the best I have ever read but good enough for me to read the next one in the series, which happens to come out same day as my lover’s book, Lover Mine. I took the day off just to read Lover Mine. Yummy, John Matthew. Loved him since Mary & Rhage’s book!! Something about him NOT talking. Wish they were all like that!! LOL!!

Well hello Mrs. John Mattew! 🙂 Thanks so much for reading! I am also a big fan of Mandi and all her smexyness, I will have to thank her for the shout out! You know, I had no idea there were so many John Matthew fans until LM, I was never able to pick my fav from BDB. I did like Rhev and his whole pimp mystique and I always thought of Butch as Mark Whalberg for some reason, so that worked for me too. Heehee. But what an excellent idea to take LM day off, I should’ve thought of that!
